This is about me, J. Harshath Khan, and my love for diesel engines. Many of us have childhood ambitions and dreams of what we are going to be in the future. Likewise, I also had a dream of entering into the world of mechanism particularly, diesel engines. With this ambition, I chose mechanical engineering as my preference in college. During vacations, I involved myself in inplant training without any salary only with the desire to learn more than what is taught in the syllabus. I have undergone unpaid inplant training in TVS workshop and Kattabomman Transport Corporation engine section. I spent most of my time during the vacations exploring diesel engines.After college, my real challenge started stepping into the next phase of life, hunting for a career in this field. My first career started at coimbatore as a sales representative of heat exchanger and cooling towers for Supreme Industry under, Mr. Joe Velan Waz, my first boss, all over Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra. After that, I worked as a helper under SKODA service engineer as well as my boss Mr. Karuppaswamy Gounder, Electro Power Diesels, Coimbatore. Through Electro Power Diesels, I got the opportunity to work on 1250 KVA SKODA engine at Vikrant Tyres, Mysore, which was a turning point in my career as a service professional. From there I did'nt look back. With the thirst for more knowledge, I continued with my hardwork and gaining knowledge in the field of diesel engines. I got selected for service engineer training in diesel engines unit, Greaves Cotton Limited, Chinchwad, Pune.
One year training in Greaves Cotton Ltd as Service Engineer Trainee for Operation, Maintenance, Trouble shooting and overhauling at Greaves Diesel Engine Unit, Chinchwad, Pune, India. During Training – Involved in perfect assembling and servicing of High-speed diesel engines (Industrial and Marine) of capacities varying from 18 HP to 1000 HP. Troubleshooting and testing of Electrical control panel, Protection unit and Alternators. Involved in perfect assembling of Stamford Alternator at Ahmed Nagar with enthusiasm. Well versed in special designing and installation of the heavy-duty diesels engines at different places. I learnt a lot from my training managers Mr. P.S.Chithale and Mr. S.N.Erande.
On completion of training, I got the opportunity to enter the dealers network as a area service engineer involved in customer care through Ideal Agro Services, Trichy, Mr. John Britto, my boss in the dealers network. I was involved in the regular maintenance and overhauling including electrical repairs undertaken in the field of different companies like ONGC (Drilling, Production and Installation at Cauvery project, Karaikal), IBP, IOCL, L&T Group, Southern Railways (Plasser-Tack machines) and Chennai Port Trust (marine engines), P&T and Telephone Exchanges.
After the successful completion of my contract agreement, I started my own company as a freelancer in Chennai, and continued my service winning a lot of valuable customers through reliable and satisfactory service. As a gift to my hardwork, I got the dealership of Greaves Cotton Limited for spare parts and service in Pondicherry and Cuddalore districts.
Through this phase of my life starting as a helper and then becoming a boss, I had many bitter experiences, troubles, met with people who were money minded and dishonest which should have led me to a state of depression, but I took this as an opportunity to differentiate good and bad people around me. These experiences in turn made me strong and gave me the power to come out with all my talents that I had, the knowledge I gained all through these years, with new energy. Today, I have good relationship with my valuable customers, I have good people around me. With all the blessings of my well wishers and with all desire and the deep interest in the field, I have started my own company KAANLITE ENGINEERING CORPORATION, registered office at Pondicherry with service branches at Chennai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, and Nagercoil. Through my company, I aim to give my valuable customers, a satisfactory service, ensuring to give them the best quality spares, and maintaining a smooth and longlasting relation with my customers.
